Drywall is an essential part of our homes or businesses. There's no doubt about that! Despite its durability, drywall still wears out over time and can cause some unsightly damages around your property. As a homeowner or a business owner, you might be wondering how to handle those annoying drywall cracks and holes. Well, we're here to help you out with some DIY Drywall Repair and Texturing tips that will save you some money and get your property looking new again!

1. The first step is to find the right tools required for the task. You will need a few essential tools such as a drywall saw, sandpaper, mud pan, putty knife, joint compound, and a sanding block. These tools you can quickly obtain at a hardware or home improvement store. Once you have gathered all the gear you need, you are good to go.

2. The second step is to assess the damages in your drywall. Is it just a small crack or hole? Is the damage more extensive? If the damage is minor, you can easily do the repair with mud and putty knife. But for more extensive damage, you may want to hire a professional. This way, you can rest assured the repair will hold for longer, and your property will look its best.

3. After assessing the damage, you can start repairing the drywall cracks or holes. First, remove any loose debris from the cracks or the edges of the holes using the drywall saw or sandpaper. Clean the area and apply a thin coat of joint compound using a putty knife. Let the compound dry, and then apply a second layer of initial compound.

4. Once the joint compound is dry, sand down the repaired area using sandpaper. Be patient and take your time doing this step. This way, you can remove all bumps and avoid damaging the repair. Next, you can apply the final coat of joint compound using a putty knife. Once the final coat dries, use the sandpaper again to make the repaired area smooth.

5. Finally, you can apply the texture on your drywall. A flat and smooth drywall may not look so appealing without texture. You can use either a spray texture in a can or a spray gun to enhance the texture of your drywall. Before you put spray texure to your wall, why not practice on a piece of cardboard? That way, you'll have better control and be able to get the job done right!

Let the texture dry, and then paint the wall to ensure a consistent color across the wall.
